What to do over the long weekend in Melbourne

Melbourne is the place to be this weekend as 2015 is the first year we have been graced with a public holiday, courtesy of the AFL Grand Final. This weekend coincidently falls on the first beautiful weather forecast of the season and here at Dept. of Finery, we are lucky enough to be a part of the most liveable city in the world. To make the most of the sun, we would love to share some of what is happening around Melbourne with our lovely customers. Here's where we'll be showing our faces in the upcoming days.

The market runs bi-annually and has been extended to Sydney and Brisbane based on their huge success. Finders Keepers also features amazing food and drink stalls, basically fulfilling your every need for a successful weekend of shopping, eating out and having a few beverages while being inspired by the great talent you see before you. "We seek to encourage creativity, to connect, inspire and empower the creative community; this is always at the heart of what we do!"

Welcome to Thornbury

Welcome to Thornbury is Melbourne's first permanent food truck stop and bar. Licensed to hold 700 people, Welcome to Thornbury is the second largest beer garden in the city with different food truck vendors every month. The trucks rotate daily with a variety of six on site at once. The bar boasts craft beers on tap as well as cocktail jugs to share amongst friends, which enables all of you to go out into the sun and sit comfortably with great company as you try a great variety of food and drink, made fresh to order right in front of you. The venue has set up giant TV screens for all our AFL fans out there this weekend to watch your favourite team win, with a drink in one hand and a gourmet hot dog in the other. Welcome to Thornbury is the perfect establishment to welcome in the warm season to Melbourne.
